The Cobra Museum as corporate event venue
You and your colleagues between the CoBrA artworks? That is possible!
The Cobra Museum, contemporary and bright, is suitable for all your events. The rooms are spacious with a lot of natural light. The constantly changing exhibitions provide colour, inspiration and a pleasant atmosphere. Your event can be held amongst the art in the gallery and not in some windowless backroom. You can keep your wishes simple (just the room hire) or broaden it to include special culinary wishes and cultural activities. Whether it’s a dinner or gathering of 10 people, a convention for 700 clients or a personal guided tour through the exhibition, we’ve tried to think of everything. No doubt we haven’t, but do not hesitate to provide us with a challenge!
You can rent the Waterzaal, the entire Upper Gallery on the first floor (one of the largest in the Netherlands), the Boardroom, the Lecture Room, the Museum Café, or all of them together. The museum is easy to reach, next to the A9 motorway close to the Amsterdam Zuidas district and Schiphol. There is a parking garage and regional bus station next door.
You can expand your programme with a tour of the exhibitions, a workshop or a lecture. Upon request, an art historian can give a lecture or a brief introduction, which makes an unforgettable event for you and your relationships. The Museum shop – with its distinctive design, exquisite art books and specially labelled wines – ensures that you and your guests do not have to go home empty-handed. They also keep the shop open in the evening for this purpose. As host or hostess, you can also collaborate with our shop to create a goodie bag.

The Upper Museum Gallery
One of the most beautiful and largest museum galleries in the Netherlands. Host a dinner, presentation, reception or (farewell) party in this captivating and aesthetic space. The room is suitable for a reception of up to 350 people and a dinner for up to 200 people. You’re guaranteed to sit amongst the art. Please call us to enquire about the temporary exhibition on the relevant date. It is also possible to rent the entire museum. You will then have a unique space for up to 550 people.
De Waterzaal (The Museum Gallery on the ground floor)
The beautiful Water Gallery located at the leafy back of the museum is suitable for receptions of up to 350 people and a dinner for up to 200 people. The gallery is situated on the ground floor with a glass wall on one side that overlooks the park with a pond. The large amount of natural light makes it an ideal space for presentations and advertising shoots during the day and a romantic setting in the evening. Large and heavy objects can be placed easily in the Water Gallery.
The Lecture Room
The Lecture Room is particularly suitable for plenary settings, conferences, symposia and product presentations. The room has natural light and a magnificent view of the Sandbergplein with the unique fountain by Karel Appel. In consultation with us, the windows overlooking the Sandbergplein can be used for communication or branding purposes. The room is well equipped with modern audiovisual equipment and can be darkened. Whether it’s with a theatre layout for up to 170 people or for a round-table meeting of up to 75 people, this room is suitable for a wide variety of meetings.
Do you want to have a productive meeting in total privacy? Then why not use our Boardroom. This is an efficiently designed room that is suitable for meetings, training classes and instruction sessions. The central location of the Cobra Museum, along the A9 between the Zuid As district and Schiphol, contributes to the maximum efficiency of this location. The room is located on the museum’s first floor, separate from the offices. Private washrooms and cloakroom facilities ensure that your guests can meet undisturbed. The Boardroom can be darkened for PowerPoint, DVD and slideshow presentations. The room can accommodate up to 20 people and has a fixed arrangement with an oval table.
Very special indeed: Le Petit Cobra
Le Petit Cobra is a restaurant in itself. Intimate and entirely in the atmosphere of the original CoBrA. With Appel, Jorn and Corneille as table companions. Special menus (3 or 4 courses, different each time) in an exceptional setting in the Museum: exactly where you want to.
Yes, even with specially designed, by hand-silkscreened tablecloths, which your guests, at the end of the evening, can take home. And, if desired, with appropriate vinyl music (record player and collection of records on site, but your own vinyl sure is welcome). A tour can be on the menu as well.
The CoBrA Museum café
If you would like a drink and to network before or after a meeting, the Museum café is the ideal, tasteful setting. You can reserve a table during opening hours and you can book the entire café outside opening hours. The café is the ideal place for a reception of up to 80 people or an intimate dinner for up to 50 people.
The Cobra Museum: the Museum that cooks!
Since its inception, the museum has also been set up as a place to welcome guests and enjoy their company. The museum knows better than anyone how to make the most of the inspiring CoBrA art in order to have a successful presentation or gathering together with your guests, whether it’s small and private or large and public.
Once inside, depending on your wishes and the time of day, your guests can exclusively enjoy the impressive architecture and the international art, even outside normal opening times. You can even enjoy your lunch or dinner in the gallery amongst the top works of art. You can’t do that anywhere else.
Speaking of food, the Cobra Museum is a museum that cooks! You can of course opt for your own catering, but experience proves that it often turns out to be more expensive and less tastefully presented. The menu can be drawn up together with you by one of the head chefs affiliated with us. It can be sophisticated, organic, regional or even a buffet. It’s up to you.
