The Business Club of the Cobra Museum of Modern Art Amstelveen became a reality on 26 April when its foundation charter was signed by club chairman Renze Hasper, a partner of the international tax and advisory firm KPMG, which has its headquarters in Amstelveen. The initiative for the business club was taken by Amstelveen local council along with one or two local companies. The club’s launch was marked by a suitably festive gathering in the Cobra Museum in the presence of the mayor of Amstelveen Jan van Zanen. This far some twenty-five companies have become members.
Since its opening in November 1995 the Cobra Museum has maintained warm ties with the business community. On the initiative of a local company and Amstelveen local council it was decided to give these ties a more permanent basis in the form of the Cobra Museum Business Club. Members have the opportunity of meeting each other several times a year in the special surroundings of the Cobra Museum. The support provided by the members will enable the museum to finance provisions like the designing of exhibitions, educational events and so on. In their turn companies can take advantage of the range of opportunities the Cobra Museum can offer, for instance in the field of networking, or for internal purposes, i.e. staff receptions etc.
